CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla (Reuters) – A huge asteroid will pass closer to Earth than the moon on Tuesday, giving scientists a rare chance for study without having to go through the time and expense of launching a probe, officials said.

On November 8, 2011 the asteroid 2005 YU55 will come within about 325000 kilometers (202000 miles) of Earth’s center. This distance is about 85% of the distance between Earth and Moon.

The museum added that the asteroid 2005 YU55 will be closest to Earth tomorrow and Wednesday. Those interested in tracking the path of the asteroid can do so by watching it through a telescope or by using long–exposure photography, it said.

2005 YU55, also written as 2005 YU55, is a potentially hazardous asteroid that is 400 meters in diameter. It was discovered on 28 December 2005 by Robert S. McMillan at Steward Observatory, Kitt Peak.On November 8 2011 it will pass within 0.85 lunar distances of the Earth. This is the closest known approach by an asteroid with an absolute magnitude this bright since 2010 XC₁₅ (H = 21.4) approached within 0.5 lunar distances in 1976.

You’re What?! .. is what they say!
When I tell people I’m Vegan it’s usually because I am in a setting where there is food involved. I don’t advertise it and of course no one would think that there are people that don’t eat meat or dairy. I mean, they’ve got to be nuts right?! Then I have to explain. And the number one question is, “What do you eat?” (Obviously I eat fruits and vegetables.) Before I get into all of that, let me just say that Vegans do not eat ANYTHING that comes from an animal. Some go as far as incorporating this into their clothes, cosmetics, soaps, etc. Some may not know this, so I just wanted to put that out there.

I went to Japan yesterday! … Not really!

I was so tempted to get a bottle of Sake, but my friend said I would wake up naked in Mexico. Since we were about 30 minutes from the border, I could totally see that happening lol.
